The 2nd Annual Public Safety Awards will be May 16 from 7 to 9 a.m. at CenterPlace Regional Event Center. 

Why it matters: This event is a great opportunity to show appreciation to those who perform beyond the call of duty and are guided by the highest professional standards. 

How it works: Each department will honor its outstanding police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and courageous civilians.

What’s next: Along with the awards, there will be a panel discussion, “Fending Off The Drug Crisis," featuring:
