Spokane, WA | July 25, 2026Spokane County Library District (SCLD) announces a variety of library events, workshops, and activities for every age, happening in July. The following highlighted events offer summer entertainment, enriching activities, and useful information.

                                                                    All Ages & Adults

Along with events that celebrate America’s 250th anniversary and focus on historical activities, such as wood carving, these sessions, workshops, and entertaining activities are taking place in July.

Families and individuals can bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to Movie Nights at Balfour Park (105 N Balfour Rd), showing Zootopia 2 (PG) on Friday, July 17, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (PG) on Friday, July 31. Family games and concessions are available starting at 6pm, and each movie begins at sunset.

Enjoy live music for all ages performed by Kosta La Vista during Cheney’s Summer Concerts in Sutton Park (815 Washington St).

Discover how to make an easy snack for a road trip, a hike, or pantry staples, during Beef Jerky Made Easy and Sauerkraut Made Simple.

New at Spokane Valley Library (22 N Herald Rd), Frontier Behavioral Health provides services to people experiencing homelessness to promote recovery, resiliency, and connection to vital community resources, during Homeless Outreach Drop-In Hours.

Stop into the library for a Library Levy Proposition: Public Information Open House to ask questions and learn more about the SCLD’s plans for levy funds, proposed to provide long-term, sustainable funding for the 10 libraries and mobile services of SCLD.

                                                                            Kids & Teens

Along with our Summer Reading activities filled with dinosaurs, prehistoric creatures, Dog Man, and PAW Patrol for kids, tweens, and teens, check out these activities to keep young people engaged and growing new skills.
Working together, kids and their adults design an animal track stamp that can be used on sand, dirt, mud, or even cookies at the workshop 3D Printing Family Fun: Animal Track Stamps (ages 8+ & their adults).

How can two-dimensional images merge to become a 3D image? Tweens and teens discover how to create this photographic art style during Make 3D Stereoscopic Images & Viewer (ages 10–14).

Technology is so cool! During the 2-day Video Boot Camp (ages 10–14), tweens and teens create a video from start to finish with fellow enthusiasts, while learning the basics of scripting, planning, shooting, and editing video.
Our favorite apps and online games are made with code. Now, tweens and teens can Learn Coding Basics (ages 10–14) using two different coding languages in these beginner-friendly sessions.

Get into the flow of summer with Introduction to Watercolors (ages 13–17 & their adults). Explore this artform with techniques such as flat wash, graduated wash, color blending, and go with the flow. For anyone who has ever struggled with watercolors, the art instructor will help troubleshoot and learn the best ways to achieve these artistic effects.
