Explore music, art, stories, and hobbies during March library events


Spokane, WA | February 19, 2026Spokane County Library District (SCLD) announces the lineup of March library events, offered in-person and online for all ages.
                                                                                ALL AGES

Come to the library March 9–31 to view the Community Art Show: Journeys—Times Past & the Path Ahead. This year’s show focuses on journeys, looking at times past and our future path ahead. Each library displays art created by local artists of all ages from its community.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this March with Irish music performed by Floating Crowbar. The band performs a high-energy mix of Irish music with the rhythmic sounds of Irish pipes, flute, whistle, cittern, as well as fiddle and guitar.

                                                                                ADULTS

The Mend-It Café can extend the life of clothing and help divert textile waste from landfills. Bring clean clothing items or other textile goods that need mending and have them repaired for free.

View a demonstration on the art and science of food preservation using the water bath canning method and get questions answered during Food Preservation with Water Bath Canning.

                                                                FAMILIES, KIDS & TEENS

Make an instrument that creates sound and another one, called a tonoscope, to “see” sound during Explore the Science of Sound. Other hands-on activities investigate how sound is heard.

Children’s author Kate Messner shares the secret worlds of the earth, sea, and sky during the enchanting and educational online discussion about her Over and Under book series.
