Enjoy merry, bright library events for every age
Spokane, WA | November 21, 2024 – Spokane County Library District announces the following December library events and workshops for adults, families, kids, and teens filled with festive creativity, knowledge, and experiences.
Creative Holiday-Inspired Workshops
Celebrate the holidays by making festive ornaments! Create Holiday Ornaments is a drop-in session and for families and kids ages 5 and older. We provide all the supplies.
During Decoración de piñatas / Piñata Decorating in Spanish, families can learn about the origins of the piñata and work together to decorate one for upcoming gatherings. This program is presented entirely in Spanish by 509 Piñatas.
Teens and adults can learn how to design and create holiday décor or personalized ornaments using our 3D printer—just in time for the holidays—during 3D Printing: Holiday Ornaments.
New to Explore: Author Talks & a Meal
Explore World Cooking: Mediterranean Food with Chef Susan from Gabe’s Gourmet Foods, as she demonstrates the preparation of a traditional Mediterranean dish in this online presentation while following along at home.

Library Customer Favorites
Our weekly Tuesday Memory Café is a comfortable way to connect with other caregivers and people experiencing memory loss while socializing and trying activities, crafts, and more.
Our Genealogy Drop-In Session offers adults help from experienced genealogy enthusiasts and shares the library’s genealogy resources.
Adults, teens, and kids ages 8 and older can Experience Virtual Reality, including Beat Saber, the high-energy rhythm game, and Brink Traveler, which offers more contemplative pursuits with breathtaking, natural beauty.
STEM programs include LEGO Free Play, Terrific Tuesdays, Wonder Wednesdays, STEAM-Themed Thursdays, Maker Open Hours in The Lab, and Intermediate LEGO Stop-Motion Studio.
Caregivers of young children can enjoy stories and literacy skill building while having fun at our weekly Play & Learn Storytime programs at nine of our libraries.
