ABOUT THE JOB: Arbor Crest Wine Cellars is seeking a Food Prep Lead to join our team.  We are looking for individuals who will represent our company with enthusiasm by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. From creating menus to maintaining standards of quality, our Food Prep Lead's roles are integral aspects of visitor’s impressions of Arbor Crest Wine Cellars. This is a great opportunity to work in a fun environment while gaining experience in the event and wine industries!

  • Represent the company by demonstrating professional and positive guest experiences
  • Maintain a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with all staff members
  • Exhibit the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while providing support in other departments
  • Demonstrate leadership and effective communication while ensuring kitchen employees adhere to food preparation instructions
  • Make certain inventory levels are stocked and maintained
  • Manage costs and pricing
  • Develop and maintain schedules for kitchen staff
  • Coordinate menu development with other departments
  • Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook foodstuffs while demonstrating precision and proper food handling
  • Sort, store and distribute ingredients while demonstrating safe and effective food handling
  • Demonstrate proper portion and production controls
  • Make certain that food served is high quality in taste, texture, and appearance
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, floors and other kitchen areas are clean and hygienic
  • Make certain all food labeling is accurate and in accordance with requirements
  • Ensure utensils and dishes are washed and stored appropriately
  • Exhibit and ensure safe sanitation techniques
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene
  • Coordinate and organize vendors for specific events
  • Exhibit the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • This job involves regular standing, walking, moving, repetitive motion and continual use of the hands
