Business Connections Breakfast: The Payoff for Outdoor Recreation
Americans spend approximately 87% of their time indoors. An additional 6% of our time is spent in a vehicle. That leaves a mere 7% of our time spent outside. A little less than 12 hours per week on average. No wonder the time that we do spend outside is so important to us and so powerful in its impacts. Whether it’s positive outcomes for mental health, stress levels, cardiovascular health or many other areas, spending time outside is impactful for recreationists.
Come and hear a little bit about the importance of outdoor recreation for both the individuals that go outside and for the economies that surround them from our guest speaker for the July Business Connections program, Dave Gilbert, Assistant Director for Outdoor Programs, Gonzaga University. And then let’s talk a bit about how to get involved.
About the speaker:
Dave Gilbert grew up in Southwest Washington and Western Oregon and has called Spokane home for the last 18 years, since arriving in the fall of 2000 to attend Gonzaga University.
